Jon Jones is the new UFC light heavyweight title after defeating Shogun Rua in UFC 128. From round 1 to round 3 Jones dominated them all. Jones had the control on the entire night as shogun was not able to establish himself. In the first round Jones established himself and settle on aggressive moves. As Jones continues to strike and hit Shogun Rua from almost all areas he could.
In round 2 it was still the same as Jones continues to maintain his momentum and continued punishing Shogun Rua. Jones even connected a spinning elbow right in the face of Shogun Rua. Jones was also successful in taking down Shogun Rua were in hitting and connected vicious elbows to the champion.
In the third round Shogun seemed to adjust his tactics but still have some problems with Jones reach. As they scramble to each other vicious punches and knees were thrown by Jones to Rua. As Jones was determined to continue his assault. When Rua was clearly throwing wild punches to jones. The challenger then connected with hard hitting kicks and punches that sent Rua down.
My Reaction to the fight
It would be a nice fight if Shogun was kinda well condition and fit. Based on the fight that I saw shogun was like fat and slow. He was like tired and exhausted in the first round of the fight. That was not the moves that I saw from the champion on his last fights. He is big, strong and quick. Shogun could just take Jones down easily if he really wanted to. With Shogun's force he can dominate Jones in an instant.
But based on the fight he shown were in he lost his title shogun was not himself. Slow and predictable moves with no power in it. He couldn't even create simple and basic head movements and evasions.
