The reigning and defending pound for pound king in UFC George "Rush" St. Pierre successfully defends his title over his top challenger Jake Shields. The fight showed that St. Pierre was as vulnerable as any body inside the octagon. As Jake Shields wounded the face of the welterweight champion. It was a 5 round title fight and both fighters came to win at there will and determination. In the first round St. Pierre connects with accurate shots that made Jake Shields confused were those shots were coming from. But on the second round Jake Shields tries to connect with his own accurate jabs and punches. Some how landed and find it's way to hurt the champion St. Pierre.
Now that St. Pierre had his left eye swollen and on the later rounds his nose would bleed and blood will come out. It's a matter of survival for the champion on how he will survive and defend his title. But on the later rounds St. Pierre remained focus even on a left blurry eye vision he still kept his phase and composure. And somehow find his rhythm and combo to hurt Jake Shields that cause a wounded and swollen right eye of the challenger.
St. Pierre would also connect on head kicks that landed on shields making him crawl on the canvass. But would get up and use the octagon to recover from the absorb hits that St. Pierre made. As the fight comes to and end St. Pierre would survive the fight and would retain his title as the welterweight champion.
And on the interview he explained that he did not expect that Jake Shields striking would be so accurate and precise. And his bloody left eye would give me problems in seeing the attacks of his enemies. And somehow he was not impress on how he was performing inside the octagon for he was looking to finish the fight with a TKO or a submission.
